A Bengal Cat is hybrid cat. They were created from an Asian Leopard and a domestic cat. This pairing produced a feline with an exotic Leopard print, patterns, and coats.
Bengals can get up to 18 lbs for males and up to 10 lbs for a female.
Although they are similar in size to most cat breeds the ALC gave the Bengal it’s long length and height. Making them taller than your average house cat!
Bengal Cats come in a beautiful array of colors. Many are mostly familiar with Brown as it is often the most sought after and seen online and in media. However, they can also come in silver, snow, blue (a beautiful peachy gray), charcoal, melanistic, smoke (a melanistic silver), and solid (a melanistic snow).
Bengals can be sold as F1, G2, G3, and G4 (all of which can carry for the above color variations) but are not considered domestic until G4 (F4) and lower.
YES! We are TICA registered. (WildDreamer)
They most certainly can be! This comes down to many different factors as not all Bengals are created equal. Genes, coats, and diet can all play a large role in this.
Yes! We have several Kings and Queens who are hypoallergenic and that produce hypoallergenic kittens. (As well as a few who are not.)
Do keep in mind though, diet can also play a huge part in this as well. And hypoallergenic do NOT mean allergy free. Hyper means an over abundance and Hypo means below or less then.
We do not claim that our Bengals are allergy free. Beware of any breeder that tells you differently as Hypo and Allergy Free are not the same.
TICA encourages all ethical breeders to keep all kittens until at least 12 weeks of age. Once our kittens reach 12 weeks, we then have them spayed or neutured prior to leaving Mom and Dad and then we place them with their fur-ever families at around 14-15 weeks.
Bengals are amazing cats and their exotic and flashy looks make them one of the most desirable breeds in the world. Some Bengals can even be as much as $10,000!
Being that Bengals are part Asian Leopards they also have some special diet requirements. Asian Leopards are wild cats, so they hunt, eat and HUNT! Asian Leopards eat meat! It’s been recorded that the leopards eat small game as well as small reptiles and fish. Being that Bengals are part of this beautiful gene poll, they are also thus required to eat a diet 40% protein. As a minimum. So they need a good quality food. Here at Wild Dreamer Cattery, we cook a lot of meat for our Bengals as well as feed them a lot of freeze dried raw.
Other things that contribute to the price of Bengals is the type of vetting and care that they need. However, with all of that said you will never find a more amazing breed of cat!
